IMPORTANT NOTICE Concord Water Availability Advisory – June 24, 2016 Concord Public Works wants to remind you to be mindful of excessive water use, especially outdoors. The lack of rain experienced over the last several weeks has resulted in a significant increase in water demand. To the point where we are at risk of having daily water demand exceed our available capacity to supply water. If you determine you must use municipal water for outdoor irrigation purposes, please consider the best management practices noted below. Here are some helpful tips: •Your lawn should be able to go without watering for 2-3 days, it could even be good for it •If you have to water, do so before the sun comes up so your lawn has time to absorb the water •Adjust your irrigation controller to operate 2x/week and direct sprinkler heads so that water is not wasted (do not point towards sidewalks or driveways) •Please water your vegetable and flower gardens by hand Concord Public Works is monitoring customer demand and available water supply around the clock and will provide additional information as necessary. Until we see a significant change in weather, the balance between available water supply and demand will remain tenuous. During this time, anything you can do voluntarily to reduce unnecessary outdoor water use is encouraged and appreciated.
